Frozen lake (2023)

On-site ritual

Moving away from an island meant leaving plants behind.
Plants that were feeding on my organic matter, exchanging the air with me.
What they stored shall be released.
I will grieve for them. For my life they will grieve.

I killed what I cared for (2023)

part of the frozen lake

I killed what I cared for so it wouldn’t be taken.
I ate all the roots.

My sanity questioned.

The soil in my mouth, the plant, the dirt.
I swallowed it all.

The comeback to senses.

Now someone, please.

Put your fingers down my throat.
I will puke my life life.
I will turn inside down.

Tear runs down my cheek but I go unnoticed.
I’m a shadow, I’m a trunk.
I can bloom, I can die.
